Title: Good home use laptop Product Uses: streaming video, internet browsing, movies Review: This is my fourth Dell laptop. 3 previous ones were Inspirons. Studio have much better picture and more usefull ports than Inspirons. Battery is really great - more than 3 hours. If you are looking laptop for basic stuff (internet, watching movies, editing pictures...) you need to have Dell Studio! |

Title: College Student use Product Uses: typical college student use Review: For Christmas, I purchased 2 11z laptops for my daughters attending college. As an IT professional, I see alot of laptops of all makes & manufactures. I knew before buying that this was not a "high powered" laptop, but I was still pleasantly surprised with the snappy performance on these little machines (even with Win 7 running on them). My only negative comment would be that there are no WinXP drivers for this laptop on the support website... |

Title: Awesome Laptop Product Uses: personal use Review: When I first decided that I needed something other than my ancient desktop I knew Dell was the place to look. After I ordered my Studio 1555 I was told that it would take 3 1/2 weeks for my laptop to arrive and the tracking told me that it was in a nearby city for a week but I recieved my laptop in just a week and a half. I absolutely love this laptop! It suites my needs, work projects and light gaming, very well. I'm really surprised that it can handle Black & White 2, a pretty demanding game. It is much better than the HP laptop supplied by my work. The screen is bright and beautiful with great viewing angles, the keyboard is very nice with good flex, and the touch pad is very responsive with a good sensetivity. Over all, a great quality laptop, with a great pricetag. |

Title: Studio XPS 16 - Great Laptop, Poor Sound Product Uses: teaching, presentations, personal use Review: I upgraded from a 4 year-old XPS M140 and am very pleased with the laptop; the RGBLED screen was definitely worth the extra price, the functionality of Windows 7 is impressive and the new style keyboard is very comfortable and fast to type with. The exception to this great package are the speakers, which are some of the worst sounding laptop speakers I've heard. My 4 YO laptop sounded much, much better and I was satisfied to use it as a stand-alone music player when I traveled or just around the house. Unfortunately, it is not so with the XPS 16 since the sound is muddy and the range of the speakers is minimal. The glossy finish is beautiful but you will be wiping it down daily (especially in black) if you're a Type-A like I am. I'd definitely recommend this laptop but wish Dell hadn't put the cheapest sounding speakers in this attractive and very functional laptop. |

Title: My Dell Laptop Product Uses: home use Review: I have been very pleased with my new Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop. I ordered it from Dell website, which was very easy to do. It was delivered to my home and ready for use immediately. Only a few minor hitches in getting started. First, if you are one of the few people in the universe left with dial up internet, you will need to by an external modem to hook up your internet. I did not realize that it only came with a trial period of Microsoft Office. It has taken a little while to get used to the touch pad for maneuvering on the screen, but it does get better the more I use it. I have twice used live Dell Chat to ask some questions and have had pretty good success with that, better than waiting on hold on the phone. Overall satisfied. |

Title: My new Inspiron laptop Product Uses: personal use - email surf the net Review: This is my first Dell laptop and I love it. The almost full-size keyboard is very easy to use and the large screen is very easy on the eyes. It only took a few minutes to get it up and running right out of the box. It is extremely fast connecting to the wireless network. I love the sleek appearance and the ice blue color. Title: One of the best Laptops Product Uses: i use this as a home pc, ususally streaming during travel... Review: I bought this computer DELL STUDIO 1555 in Decmeber 2009, and I am happy to use this laptop with advanced features. Good performance, ease of use and handy. The only drawback I am seeing is when I am closing the laptopn without out locking or shutting down, the system goes to stand by mode, which never used to happen with my previous laptop. I am not sure whether this is a feature but i did not liked that. APart from that everythig is good. Especially support is tooooooo good. Whenever i call dell support I used to get a quick response and resolution. This is pretty awesome. |

Title: Fantastic laptop for the small price Product Uses: business use/travel Review: I was impressed by the notebook computer from the moment I turned it on. The pictures/video's are extremely accurate and clear. I bought the external mouse(wireless)and it works great. I just don't like those "pads" that are built in the laptop. Setup is very easy and making any adjustments to the setup is also a no-brainer. I'm very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend this product to anyone that can't spend thousands of dollars on a laptop. At this price I can't hardly believe what a value it is. One suggestion I would make is you may wish to pick another color than black as it does show fingerprints and smudges on all of the "shiny" surfaces. With that said, I whole-heartedly recommend this system. It's great! |

Title: Quality build Laptop Product Uses: supplement to main desktop, general internet browsing, research and information gathering, everyday family use Review: I have found the Studio 1555 to be a well built machine with an excellent performance capability for the price bracket! Most of the other well known brands offered a less "well specced" Laptop at the price range into which the Studio 1555 falls! I have encountered none of the "negatives" that some reviewers have reported If I had wanted blistering fast gaming performance and "high end" audio capabilities...I would have considered an Alienware build,but the Studio 15 does exactly what I wanted it to do! I selected this model as a supplement to my Desktop rig and it has fit the bill perfectly. Having read some negative issues on poor Customer Care service..and delivery complaints.I was beginning to be a little aprehensive...... I only had one query in the order process...and that was dealt with politely and courteously by the agent I had spoken to and the matter was resolved satisfactorily! From initial order to delivery took 9 days and the item was delivered as and when promised ..Good service from Dell all round!! |
