Well done Dell - Sleek, fast and user friendly
Product Uses:
Connecting with Friends, Travel, Gaming, Music & Movies, Finances
Review:
Overall - More than I'd hoped for! Fast performance, bright screen in any conditions, at any angle - and it's not often people alongside you mention how good looking your laptop is! I haven't experienced the heating issues most other reviews mention, although I do generally use the laptops with the vents unobstructed (table, not lap).
PRO's - Dell customisation and delivery - Black design, size and weight - Keyboard (nicely backlit, and feels right) - WLED screen - No flex in the chasis etc giving a very well put together feel - Price, and discounts available to certain employers
CON's - A little unstable when configured as an ad-hoc network (freezes) - Better anti-virus software available - Phone rep wouldn't call me back on my mobile during ordering (the site wouldnt allow me to use my employer discount code) resulting in an expensive phone call to purchase the laptop
Highly recommended

My Friendly new laptops
Product Uses:

Review:
Pro I was thinking of buying a Mac at first, I just couldn't stop thinking how much I enjoy working on a Dell, since I bought a used 1 from a friend, I enjoyed it even though it was considered a dinosaur, knowing I would be happy with a brand new 1, I am very happy with ease of operation, this coming from someone who once was told I had no conection with computers. Thanks Dell, I only hope the all service needs will be met with the same manner?(no hassels), also winning the offered $500 gift card offer is nice too!!!
Con I regret not getting the next size up, I like having the #'s key separate along with larger screen, also should've waited just a little longer to get the new windows 7, maybe since Dell made the offer for upgrading, there can be a smooth way to download it from Dell's website for free!!!

Could not recommend to a friend
Product Uses:
Connecting with Friends, Finances, read news, do research on the web
Review:
I got the laptop a few weeks ago. I am a faitghful Dell customcer for many years. That's why I was disapointed in this product to the point of considering asking for it to be exchanged (maybe I got an almost-lemon).
Keys stick and I have to type hard, at times, for the text to appear (even as a touch typist I try to type slowly but...). The cursor develops a mind of its own and start chasing some ghosts accross the sceen; requires a few taps to come to its senses. Several times, at log in, I had to restore the system which, of course, I understand may have to do with something I downloaded. [I am satisfied that my anti-virus program is doing a fine job - so far; that does not seem to be the problem].
However, due to my faith in Dell I decided to keep the PC (since I need it daily and cannot wait for the exchange to take place over days or longer). I also hope that the problems, minor but frustrating as they have been, will resolve themselves with time or I will have to do something.
Again, it is possible that this is only this very machine and not most of every other Inspiron 15 recently made (who knows where). Best of luck.

My New Best Friend
Review:
I decided to purchase a netbook because my Dell Inspiron E170E (which I love) weighs 7 lbs. So, I researched netbooks for months to learn about them before the big decision. Mine has 2GB Ram, 250GB Hard Drive, Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium. I noticed most netbooks only had 1GB Ram and less hard drive space and cost more than mine. Also, they only had Vista or Windows 7 Starter, Media Center, 15 mos of Macafee, LoJack. I paid $415. I got it right before Dell increased the price to $499. Research and compare before you do anything!!!Purchasing the external CD optical drive is a must!!! (That was an additional $75) You have to be prepared in the event you have to do a manufacturers re-boot with the CDs they provide or if you want to install any software. There are 3 USP ports and a 3-1 card reader. One other thing, when you go to the store to purchase a sleeve to protect it, don't waste your time. The 11z is larger than the standard 10.1 netbook size. So, you'll need to order it from Dell. Otherwise, you will be running around stores trying to find one that fits. You can purchase one much larger but that rather defeats the purpose of being compact. All that to say...I love my new Inspiron 11z. And the built-in webcam is a bonus.

Review:
I bought this product because my 17 in. laptop was just getting too heavy and bulky to take to school and study in the library. This Baby Dell is perfect to slip into a little bag and take along with text books and notebooks. No problem with weight and ackward balancing of everything. There has been no problem with connecting to public WiFi, or to my home printer wirelessly. How cool is that? With the six hour battery you're ready to boot up anywhere. It's been a great new little friend!

Studio 1747 - cheap, heavy, Not User Friendly
Product Uses:
home use
Review:
Ploblematic Computer. The Studio 1747 is cheaply made, it has flimsy plastic bezels with sharp edges. For as heavy as it is, you would think it would be more sturdy. The crumb catching speakers should be relocated to the front like the Inspiron 1721, The media buttons are located in a good spot and the Backlit keyboard is awesome. The 1747 only has 2 USB ports, unlike the 1721 that had 5 and one was inset for the nano mouse receiver so when installed was flush and not sticking out. There is not a user setting to automatically disable the touchpad when a mouse is detected which makes it hard to type without the pointer skipping across the screen. The power cord sticks out the side so it gets bent while in your lap. No S-video for older TV's. The Multitouch features are slow, stop functioning at times, and a waste of money. No preinstalled cam software included. Processor speed is very slow for a quad core i7, but ok for the price. There is no Calculater quick key, but you can program one. The touchpad is slow, has too many features and hard to use considering how big it is. All 17 inch laptops should have a designated area to use a mouse on the surface under the number keys. Buyer Beware....

Solid, Future-Friendly General use home computer
Product Uses:
general home use, streaming video
Review:
Overall: A very solid entry into quad-core computing, and comes with Dell’s excellent customer support.
Earlier this year I bought a new Zino. It was a nice machine but had issues. On the bright side, I learned the value of Dell’s support: fast, professional, and they will send a replacement machine to you if necessary, all at no charge. Many other makers require you to ship the machine at your expense if there are issues. Take this into account when you decide to buy…
On to the machine. This is the quad-core AMD version; mine has 6GB and a smallish hard drive.
This is a great budget entry into multi-core computing. The AMD processors are cheap, quick, energy efficient; you get ‘more cores for your dollar’ than Intel. They are in the sweet spot for budget video encode/decode: i.e. internet streaming!
Further, they’ve been using the same socket types for some time, so you might actually be able to upgrade later on.
The processor is a beast. The most intensive task I put it to is streaming shows (Hulu, Netflix etc) at the highest resolution possible. Note that a graphics card will do you nothing in this application; it is all up to the CPU. The cores cruise along at no more than 20% or so each. Tremendous reserve capacity! The performance is limited to how fast the provider will let you pull data, and how fast your network is. My wireless is 54Mbps, internet connection is 10Mbps, Hulu limits me to 1Mbps.
Overall, this computer's performance is very fast and is only limited by the hard drive. This would be a great machine to use a small SSD for the OS, keep those cores fed.
Pros: Excellent value for the dollar Excellent performance. Boot up is under 20sec. Runs very snappily. Very quiet. Although not advertised as such, this machine is almost silent. Nice media card reader Standard DVD drive handles mangled library DVD’s with aplomb Expandable Integrated graphics processor is a great value AMD “Cool and Quiet” ramps the processor speed up and down – runs very cool, energy efficient Includes a clean Windows 7 disk
Cons: Comes with various bloatware on the Win7 install Other than that, nothing really. Pretty big case. Not necessarily a con, it comes with the territory for mid-size desktops
If you get it, I suggest throw in the Win7 disk right away, nuke the extra partitions (they contain Dell tools for which there are better alternatives) and start with a nice clean install. You will be happy!
5 star rating. Great job Dell.

Review:
I have been researching 13" laptops for weeks that contain decent RAM and a ULV processor, and this is the only one that comes close.
I'm quite impressed with the performance considering its 1.5Ghz (I got the K625 AMD Version), and greatly impressed with the facial recognition for logging into websites.
Design is nice, I have received quite alot of complements.
Considering I was looking for a laptop that was to have a long battery life (using a ULV, WLED screen, 6-cell battery), I am disappointed that I can only get about 2-2.5 hours of not doing much stuff (basic internet and programming).
Overall very happy but wish that tell could make it more customiseable (e.g. smaller HDD)

But once I performed my initial set-up and list of updates both on Dell.com and microsoft.com I have had no problems what-so-ever! Great buy I am happy I came across this deal.

I use for business use as well as for personal use. I could not be happier! This is my second computer purchase from Dell and I would highly recommend to others to purchase from Dell where you receive one on one help when ordering and after receiving your Dell product. I bought my Inspiron 15R in Feb 2011. After three months of using my computer and regularly using the Dell Support Center program that was installed on my computer to do periodic diagnostics of my system, it told me that my hard drive was about to crash and that I needed to backup my files and contact Dell. I immediately backed up all of my files, contacted Dell, and Dell replaced the hard drive within less than a week. I didn't lose any of my files as I had the warning to save everything. Other than that, I love this computer. It is very easy to operate.

All my friends are jelly. I love this thing! :)
Product Uses:
gaming., everything else.
Review:
I'm impressed! Its been over a month now since ive had my machine. It eats any game I throw at it! And I mean ANY game... The Aurora is certainly the best value for money out of all the Alienwear desktops. With the options I put on it I was amazed to see how little it actually cost in comparison to building my own. Its actually one of the smallest towers you can have with the best GPU and specs possible. You can spec this computer out to run any game flawlessly. Even the upcoming Battlefeild 3 which is going to be incredibly difficult to run on max settings. With the right video card, ram and cpu options any game is easy prey for this machine. Although I do recommend buying your own ram for performance sake and to save money. The stock Dell ram is garbage. Great buy for anyone looking for a high end gaming desktop with out going through the hassle of building their own.
Just be careful with the options to choose to include on it. Some are better value than others. The over clocked CPU options are a waste of money when you can easily over clock it your self. Some of the options are priced much too high "or in some cases low" as well. Do your research first if you value your money!!!
Upsides: Great value with the right specs. Very easy access to the inside for upgrading. Actually nice to look at compared to most gaming PCs "I'm not embarrassed to show it off to my non gaming friends hahaha :)". Quite small for a high end gaming PC although it is very heavy.
Downsides: Not as up-gradable as other towers due to its smaller size and its motherboard. Can heat up a small room quickly while playing with a very high end card on max settings even with optimal cooling.
Overall: Well worth buying for those who don't want to build their own PC. Even for seasoned PC building experts like my self its still great value for what you get. Even cheaper than building your own in some cases. Don't hesitate to buy this if your looking for a high end machine. You wont regret it!
Other Notes: Dell also threw in a gaming grade keyboard with my purchase and gave me a big discount on my machine. Don't be afraid to order over the phone! The Dell sales people are great and saved me hundreds of dollars on my purchase just by going through the phone! :)

Superfast, very user friendly, but misleading ad?
Product Uses:

Review:
Dell Venue Pro (DVP) is incredible fast, 4.1" large, amoled screen is just incredible responsive. Sliding through the menus so smooth and fast. Device looks really nice. Whoever sees it, just being amazed. In the other reviews many users explained the pros and cons. I agree with most of them. Some Additional, PROS: -Radio receiver is very strong. -You will really love to play games on the large, very responsive screen. -WiFi works excellent. -With "ME" interface, you rule windowslive, facebook, twitter etc. at the same time. -Setting of Outlook and other mail accounts easy and works without any problem. -Reboot time is crazy, just 2-3 seconds!!! If you ever used WM5,6.x etc. versions before this should make sense to you! -Sensor located next to the call-speaker works perfect. When you talk, screen becomes dimmed/locked so you do not touch any button with your ear accidentally, and when you move the phone a bit far, screen turns on automatically that you can reach dials button/end talk button etc.
CONS: -Battery life could be better for this size phone. Because they could include a bigger size and higher mAh capacity battery in it. -When you quit an application, for example especially radio, music player and podcast, it still appears on the main lock-screen.This is not a DVP issue, more WP7.5 issue actually. Because WP7.5 does not have a button or an option to quit programs completely. I hope they fix this issue in the following updates/upgrades. It is very disgusting to see an application on the lock-screen you already quitted -The earphone set comes with DVP does not provide a good sound quality. Recommend you to use your own headphones with extra-bass feature.
-Dell advertises that DVP has COMPASS and GPS. None of the Compass applications worked so far. I did an internet search and realized that, although DVP hardware SUPPORTS COMPASS feature, Dell disabled it with deleting compass driver, when mango was being installed.Dell's Chief Blogger Lionel Menchaca said that "they will not support the compass function"!
-GPS! When they advertise they do not say "AGPS", instead they say "GPS". I think everybody who is familiar with high-tech toys knows the difference between those two short definitions. This was one of the main reasons why I bought this phone and sold my HTC HD with a real GPS.DVP has just an A-GPS which means you should have network and data connection to prepare your route and download the map for that specific road. If you change your route, you need to use data again to download and calculate again the route.
Dell should clarify these points with their tech specs for DVP. If I didn't sell my HTC and if I don't like to use DVP, just because of these 2 misleading points, I would send this phone back when I realized specs don't seem the same as in tech specs advertised.
If we summarize: If compass and GPS are not important for you, I recommend this phone 100%. It is really awesome device.
