Inspiron 15 - Good laptop at a reasonable price
Product Uses:
web site development, image graphic design, internet marketing
Review:
I needed a new laptop with speed and reliability. I got the 4 gig RAM, Windows Vista Home Ultimate. I do web design and internet marketing so convenience, size and dependability was important.
I also bought a separate monitor to connect to it along with speakers too. I wish it had an HDMI connection for my high def monitor. Other than that it has everything I wanted. (maybe a built in web cam would have been nice too) Thanks - Optigroove.com

Good Laptop
Product Uses:
good graphics and video, great audio, windows 8
Review:
Bought this laptop to replace desktop. Wanted a system that could handle photo and video processing and was semi-portable.
This laptop has met my expectations. The graphics are good and the video is as well. The audio is very good.
I am not happy with the Windows 8 operating system - I only hope that there are improvements in the future. I think that it makes the system run slower than it should and there are glitches at times requiring reboots. It is made for touch screens and I do not have a touch screen laptop (and I would not use this option if I had it on this PC).

Very good laptop at a good price.
Product Uses:
Connecting with Friends, Finances, watching dvd's, Gaming, browsing the internet
Review:
I spent over $2,000 on a custom laptop from HP a few years back and that thing can't even compare to this Dell Inspiron I only paid $700 for. I LOVE this laptop. The Promise Pink Glossy top is beautiful, I still don't have a scratch on it. The glossy interior is wonderful, does get fingerprints, but its nothing a anti-static electronic wipe can't fix. I can even run World of Warcraft and Guildwars on this thing with good graphics and no lag. I get 5 hrs and 30 minutes of battery life with the 6-cell browsing the internet. The integrated camera isn't the best but that is what a camera is for and works fine as a web-cam. My boyfriend and I watch movies on it sometimes and the picture is very nice and the speakers are loud enough for us. He is jealous of my Inspiron because he wasted over $1000 on a Gateway laptop that has had to be repaired over 5 times since he got it 8 months ago. I will definitely be buying Dell in the future!

Review:
Pros: Nice laptop, looks good, lighter than others this size, fast, great sound.
The touchpad is not centered, the arrow keys are to small compared to the other keks on the keyboard. Has the wireless n minicard and it does not connect any faster than 54mbps, can't get through to customer support via the chat. Battery life on 6 cell battery is only 2.5 hours or less.

Good laptop but . . .
Product Uses:

Review:
Excellent laptop. Plenty of memory and speed and Windows 7 is a joy after having had to suffer with Vista on my wife's laptop. My only disapoinment is that it no longer comes with HDMI, DVI or S-video outputs. The only way to connect this to an HDTV is the video monitor output and listen to the sound from the laptop - cheesy!! Bought Inspiron laptops for my wife and daughter within the past 2 years and all these outputs were included. I object to this cheapening but overall a great machine.

Review:
Laptop runs great, just like it should and the amount of RAM makes it easy to run multiple large programs at once. This is our second Inspiron 15 as my wife has had hers for about 8 months or so. For the price it is still more durable than any low end laptop. Lack of Operating system options was depressing though, no linux.

Very good laptop after of 9 months, still love it
Review:
I bought this laptop for university work. It has overall been very good, although I have had some problems with the webcam and power adaptor. However I must say the excellent after care of dell meant that these problems were solved quickly and efficiently. The service is very good indeed.
The laptop is very good, it is quick especially with windows 7.
The black palm rest gets dirty and finger prints on it, although you can wipe these off quite easily. Or you can contact dell and get a silver palmrest at an additional cost.
Overall it is a solid laptop and I would reccommend it to anyone!!!

Good laptop but poor keyboard design
Review:
This laptop is great for day-to-day use like browsing but the keyboard layout is bad. Specifically, the touchpad is not symmetrically placed in the middle but towards the left. While typing something, the cursor suddenly jumps elsewhere or opens a window or something like that. I guess this happens due to eithet the wrist or the palm touches the touchpad without the operator's knowledge. Wish Dell had that thought of this before they chose this design. Otherwise, so far this laptop and the OS Windows 7 is ok.

Only problem I have is mouse pad is very sensitive, and jumps around to easily.(maybe this is me,but cant find a way to change). Really love the small compact size great for taking out and about. Also use it to connect to internet ,very good quick easy service. Games quite good too.

Review:
I've had 3 problems. The keys where broken when it got here, but dell sent me a new keyboard within a week later. Dell has great service. And the second problem I had was when I tried to play Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. The graphics kept messing up. I haven't tried to play since, but maybe it was a one time thing? The last thing that I don't like is how shiny it is. It's impossible for it to look clean and nice. The laptop is great otherwise. I highly recommend it.

Very good laptop, great price
Product Uses:
surfing the net, writing, watching movies
Review:
I bought my Inspiron on Cyber Monday and received a great deal. Since I've bought it, I've always scanned weekly ads and have kept checking prices at big box stores and I've yet to feel otherwise.
It's been great right out of the gate. It's about as easy to start and run as it could get. DON'T pay extra for BestBuy to "Optimize" your computer, it's not worth it. Although, I have some computer knowledge, you really don't need it to get going with this laptop.
I paid a little extra for the upgraded wireless card and it's definitely worth it. I know the WiFi signal strength in my home and this laptop has received it much better than my desktop (also a Dell) with a wireless reciever.
My only small gripe is that when I'm typing any longish document I quite often accidentally rub the touchpad with my palm and set off a automatic function. I would have like a bit less sensitivity or a more recessed touchpad. This is easily solved by buying an external mouse and turning off the touchpad.

I purchased this laptop for my wife as a Christmas present. She is not too technical, but is learning this PC very well and fast. I upgraded this laptaop with the 8 hour battery and am so glad I did!! I do wish, however, there was an indicator light if you have CAPS LOCK on. Kind of annoying and can be overlooked. The PC is very sleek and not too heavy. So far everything we have run on it runs fast and with no problems! For the price, I feel we got a great deal! It does everything we need!!

Good laptop for price
Review:
Good laptop for the price. Functions very good with Windows 7. Was able to setup and run everything I needed without any major issues. Only thing bad I noticed is that the wireless on this laptop is not as good as other Dell/IBM/Apple laptops. The furthest reaches of my home I can barely get a signal. When next to the router, it didn't get full signal. It connects, but weaker than it should be.
All in all for the price this is a great laptop. I use it for basic surfing and video watching, nothing strenuous. I save that stuff for my Dell Precision laptop.

Good laptop but....
Product Uses:
Connecting with Friends, college work, research
Review:
I purchased this laptop mid September 2009 for my first year at college this Fall. One of the major issues I am having with this laptop is that it is really heavy. The weight makes it difficult for me to carry it in my backpack. Also, the touch pad is somewhat annoying to work with. Sometimes the mouse would automatically click on something when there was no pressure on the touch pad whats so ever. The webcam is grainy at night and you can't really see your face at all. Lastly, on some earphones the volume is pretty lame and its impossible to correctly hear something even at its maximum volume and the glossy surface leaves fingerprints every where. Besides that I do like that it has a widescreen and comes with so many applications, like the dock and widgets on the display menu, that is very helpful. If you plan on keeping your laptop at home, then this is perfect for you. This is just my personal opinion and I am honest with what I have to say about this laptop. I have no hate towards dell computers, in fact, I love them but this laptop--to me--was a disappointment.

Pros My fourth laptop ordered through dell. Has all the right features for my use, love the built in bluetooth, bright wide display. Payed xtra for the xp pro. Delivery was quick and accurate.
Cons Not fond of the material the touchpad is made of, my finger doesn't move smoothly on pad; hoping it will improve over time. Disappointed in design location for power cord which is right next to double usb port; hard to install or remove usb devices without the power cord coming out.

Good laptop - early days
Product Uses:
Connecting with Friends, Finances, email, music and photo editing and storage, desktop publishing
Review:
I purchased my laptop a month ago, so it's early days to say much about it. The purchase and service and delivery were all efficient and prompt.
I really wanted a purple laptop but now realise the purple is on the lid which is the back of the screen when the laptop is in use. So you don't get to enjoy the colour unless you're carrying it around (without a case)... and mine stays on my desk pretty much all the time. That said, the system seems to be fast, the set up after unpacking it was quick and easy. The camera seems to work well and of course it has plenty of memory. I had considered the Studio but am happy with the Inspiron. So far I have not used it for much other than email and web access and have not put it to the test with multiple applications on the go yet.

This laptop has a bright and sharp display and surprisingly good sound from the internal speakers. It has adequate speed and storage for student use. The wireless works very well. Battery life is better than any previous laptop I have had. The only problem I had (hardware failure of the touchpad) was handled by a Dell service tech coming to my home to make the repair. I like design: 1. Acceptable weight for 15" size 2.Depth size is less than other brands. 3.WLED display which I have chosen is bright. 4.Speed is OK for the regular use -movies,office, internet browsing. In spite of many complaints on Vista, I like it more than XP, you have just customize it properly. What I see negative - is the battery life -6 cell about 3hrs. and missing hd indicator (not a big issue though, because BIOS or Vista give you message anyway)

Pros; I brought this computer originally to take to uni, i have since then discovered that is a good looking computer, has good aspect on the inside, the battery life is pretty good max i have got is 5 hours, if charged when hibernating.
Cons; I got the cherry red colour, but i have a small scratch on the top and have discovered that the tops are white under the colour, therefor it is a white scratch!!!, the key board is good but the face of the keyboard can get really smudgy! like i have to wipe it over alot, the same with the coloured section. it is also a bit big and heavy, i think as a uni student who takes it everyday should have something smaller and lighter! well for a girl anyway! i hope this helps you :)
