Dell Mini Technical Review
Product Uses:
email, photo editing, music
Review:
The Dell Mini is best suited for a young person who has lots of time and patience. The CPU and Memory power have much to be desired. Booting is painfully slow. The screen is acceptable but not optimal for normal usage. This is because the majority of applications including the internet are designed for larger screens, not a dell issue. Eventually technology will catch up to the new screen sizes offered by smaller devices like the Mini. Battery life so far has been acceptable. Wireless connectivity is on par with larger models like the Inspirion. However, the new "touch pad" is enough to kill the Mini. The touch pad is WAY to sensitive. Navigation of the screen using the touch pad causes sporadic movements that drag/drop folders and files into new locations. These undesired actions have corrupted my Outlook.pst files, caused files to relocate in undesired folders.... etc.The adjustment functions within the touch pad software are insufficient to correct the issues. Theonly permanent way to correct the issues caused by the touch pad are to duct tape over it and buy a USB mouse. Product development should have caught this issue.

Title:
Review of Dell Mini 10
Review:
Overall this is a good netbook. It is fine for what it is designed for. I personally own an XPS lap top as well - and would recommend that for a semi portable main machine - and for anyone who is seriously into gaming.
The MINI 10 is great for (Internet, chatting, word processing, itunes) Grad students in the sciences - You will love one of these. As long as you don't install useless programs and use it for daily computing needs associated with school it will be great. Don't expect to run high end apps but everything else works great!
Seriously PPL don't buy the MINI 10 if you plan to use it mainly for GAMING!!! You WILL be disappointed!
If you buy this for what it is intended to do you will be satisfied with the performance and happy not to be lugging around your ultra expensive semi portable gamine machine.
