Review:
I've been contemplating purchasing the v13 for two months now--ever since i got a vostro a860 last year. i have a mini-inspiron with ubuntu--so i was familar with that operating system. Just got the base ubuntu v13 yesterday. have read the previous reviews over the last month or so--and here's mine. I have five laptops by the way--and work in radio advertising--using presentation software (open office--it's free and supports Powerpoint), audio/video files.
For under $500--the laptop looks like a macbook pro--but thinner--like a wafer. solid aluminum alloy. i have the celeron processor with ubuntu--the base unit and it's very fast. i've loaded 500 mp3's on it, a three minute video, and opened 12 web site tabs--all streaming at once. the keyboard is nice and solid--not as cheap as some reviews would lead you to believe. the screen is HD, anti glare quality-nice and sharp at the correct angle. the unit doesnt get hot and very lightweight. i'm showing this to a colleague of mine today who bought an apple macbook for $1000 and tell him i paid $2000 for this 2g, 250g HD computer--just to get his reaction. I think you'll love this--probably the best laptop i've purchased from Dell!

Review:
I bought this phone December 21, 2011 and I never thought I would write a review about it. I'm like most buyers, I relied heavily on the reviews posted on here. DON'T GET FOOLED BY THE REVIEWS POSTED HERE! It's only January 23,2012 and I'm having the phone sent back to Dell for a replacement. Do your research please before buying this phone! If you notice the ones who are giving great reviews about this phone haven't used the phone for a long time, but I guarantee you that 2-3 months from now, they will also be writing negative reviews about this phone.
The phone crashed on me, in the middle of my vacation and lost everything. Apparently this is not an isolated issue because after reading the Dell forum regarding this issue, it's a major faulty issue regarding this phone. PLEASE READ THE DELL FORUM BEFORE PURCHASING THIS PHONE, DONT RELY ON THE NEWLY POSTED COMMENTS ON HERE!
Here is my issue: The phone is less than 30 days old and just out of the blue it restarted itself and never came back on again. I NEVER COULD GET PASS THE DELL LOGO ON THE SCREEN, THAT'S IT. It never booted up again and after contacting the Dell customer support via phone (they don't offer Live customer chat for this phone and have to call a special number) the agent determined that it was a hardware issue and will send me a replacement. I refused to accept the replacement knowing that the previous unit was defective and became inoperable after 30 days. However, he sadly informed me that i missed the 21 day return policy which disqualified me from receiving a refund and have no choice but to accept a replacement. The phone is beautiful, sleek, very very attractive! But none of that matters when you can't use it.
SO PLEASE, READ DELL'S OWN FORUM REGARDING THIS PHONE BEFORE PURCHASING IT AND MAKE YOUR DECISION AFTERWARDS!
